Celebration #1- Maine Lobster Festival (July 31st-August 4th) The Maine Lobster Festival is located in Rockland, Maine and is a 5 day celebration consisting of cooking contests, a parade, lobster racing, carnival rides, local artists, and of course LOADS of lobster! The Maine Lobster Festival has been around since 1947 and attracts visitors from all over the world. Admissions for the lobster fest are extremely affordable for all the fun activities you get to experience as a part of this celebration. On opening day there is a discount for adults (12 and older) so the ticket price is $1 and FREE for children 11 and under. During the bulk of the celebration from August 1st to August 3rd ticket prices for adults is $8 while children (6-12) is $2 and children under 5 is free! The festival offers kooky options like dressing up as a pirate on Thursday to get in for free as well and the last day being free for all admissions! So not only do you have so much to do, this celebration is affordable and will be sure to bring you many fun memories!

Celebration #2: Lollapalooza (August 1st-August 4th) If lobster isn’t your style then music may be more for you. Lollapalooza is an annual 4 day music celebration located in Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois which features artists like Janelle Monáe, Lil Wayne, Death Cab for Cutie, Tenacious D, Mitski, Hozier, 21 Savage, and many many more. There are a variety of ticket options with most people opting for a 4 day pass which comes to $340 for general admission and ranging up to $4,200 for the platinum package, and they also offer group admission. If that’s a little too pricey then 1 day options are more your speed at $130 for a 1 day general admission ranging up to $2,000 for a platinum 1 day admission. Even though Lollapalooza is on the pricier side, you will be able to have fun with friends and like minded individuals who appreciate music celebrations just as much as you!

Celebration #3: Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire (August 3rd-October 27th) If you are a history buff then this will be a celebration of your dreams. The faire consists of weekends that are allotted to themes so one weekend will be Children’s Fantasy, a weekend dedicated to catering to the faire’s younger crowd, one weekend there will be the World Carnival which includes costume exhibitions, costume contests, and so on. There will never be a shortage of fun things to do during this celebration and tickets vary in cost. If you are just interested in 1 day general admission then you’ll be looking at a price tag of $27.95 if you order online ahead of time or $31.95 if you purchase at the front gates. Children aged 4 and under are free and single day tickets for children (6-11) are $12.95 whether ordered ahead of time or at the front gates. If you know you’ll want to experience the magic of the renaissance faire for more than a day then looking into season passes will range from $45 for children and $125 for adults. Either way you know you will get a fun history filled celebration.

Celebration #4: The World’s Continuous Rodeo (August 15th-August 17th) If you are a person who loves some southern flair in their celebrations then look no further! Travel to Payson, Arizona and experience all the fun of a rodeo like calf roping, a parade, food, and music. Also watch the fun of competition by The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association that gets rodeo riders to compete from around the world for huge prizes!

Celebration #5: Iowa State Fair (August 8th-August 19th) While every state has their own version of a state fair it’s hard to come close to Iowa in regards to the country experience. On the second Thursday of August for eleven days, the Iowa State Fairgrounds hosts the state fair that has carnival rides, fried food, memorabilia, and activities for youth to do! They also have music performances from The Chainsmokers, Slipknot, Gabriel Iglesias, Luke Bryan, and so many more! They cater to a variety of tastes whether music, food, or action!
